The Lime Lounge is simply a place to call into when you have a few minutes to relax. Put your feet up and have a read about anything from info about Limes to weird and wonderful snippets about whatever takes our fancy.

To start, we couldn’t list our cool Blomus Boston Cocktail Shakers without including a recipe or two.

CAPRIOSKA

Caprioskas are a tangy and refreshing summer cocktail. Just a word of caution, this is a strong drink and not for the uninitiated!

You’ll need a Blomus Boston Cocktail Shaker and Jigger and a pestle (or rolling pin) for this recipe.

INGREDIENTS (Per glass)

1/2 cup of crushed ice
2 shots of Vodka (approx 30 ml or 1 fl.oz.)
1 lime cut into wedges
1 teaspoon of brown sugar (or thereabouts)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Add the lime wedges and brown sugar into the cocktail shaker and crush together with the pestle until the lime juice has been released.
  2. Add the vodka and crushed ice to the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously until mixed.
  3. Pour the mixture into a glass and enjoy!!

OPTIONAL   To make a Caipirinha, replace the vodka with rum.

MOJITO

- Alcohol-free
Pronounced [moh-HEE-tohs]

An easy version of the Mojito for the designated driver or anyone who prefers a drink without alcohol.

IINGREDIENTS (Serves: 1 Tall Glass)

6-8 fresh mint leaves 1-2 tsp fine sugar OR sugar substitute
1 lime - halved
Crushed ice
6 oz sparkling water
Mint sprig for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

Crush the mint in the bottom of the glass. Squeeze lime into the glass. Add sugar or sugar substitute, crushed ice, and the lime sparkling water. Garnish with mint and serve

ALTERNATIVE INGREDIENTS

6-8 fresh mint leaves
1-2 teaspoons fine sugar
1 lime - halved
Crushed ice
6 ounces soda water
Mint sprig for garnish
2 oz light rum
